Let's get to know each better! I am a strategic communication professional with experience in government communications, education, emergency communications and project management.

I am a Senior Communications Specialist for the Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation where I help the Capital Project Services Division and Engineering, Traffic and Survey Division gain insight into public opinion, and provide outreach about current and future road projects.

I am FEMA-trained as an Advanced Public Information Officer with experience supporting a Joint Information Center. I am an advocate for plain language. I also have experience in project management.

My Story
I am working towards a master's degree in strategic communication through the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University. Their Global Campus has made it possible to complete a degree program during a pandemic, working full-time, and raising three children. Even then, I couldn't have done this without the support of my amazing husband, my dedicated mother, and my supportive work family.

As part of the Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation, I create communication opportunities between public works and our constituents. I am committed to providing timely, relevant and easy-to-understand information to our community. It is equally important to build opportunities for the public to have input in how their tax dollars are spent in the construction and maintenance of our roads.

As a member of the emergency response team, I have the opportunity to step outside of my transportation focus and support the community during wildfire and pandemic responses.

I am a member of the International Association for Public Participation and the National Society for Leadership and Success. Both of these organizations help me to become a better listener and to engage with those around me.

My passion is to help others get the information they need, when they need it, in a format they can use.
